Less Scrap

Nest parts closer together for reduced scrap and improved efficiency

THE PROBLEMS WITH LASER CUTTING

SHEET METAL

Sheet metal laser cutting is a common method to produce a wide variety of parts, but it comes its fair share of disadvantages. With sheet metal, you have incremental costs, bulky storage needs, and blank size limitations.

You also experience flashback due to slats or a nail bed requirement to hold materials in place, as well as annoying sheet loading and unloading times.

Therefore, when you are laser cutting sheet metal, you’re putting yourself at a serious production disadvantage. Fortunately, by switching to a more efficient laser cutting machine that uses metal coil, you can avoid all of these issues.

COIL-FED LASER CUTTING ADVANTAGES

PRODUCTIVITY

Seamless changeovers between designs, and the ability to produce multiple parts and configurations quickly. Eliminate the inefficiencies of sheet metal table lasers and excess scrap

FLEXIBILITY

No more limitations! Make design changes or updates at the speed of a mouse click. Process various material widths. Cut a range of materials including high strength steel and aluminum.

QUALITY

Clean, high-quality edges by eliminating flashback with an accurate 10kW fiber laser that cuts over open space using innovative mechanical slats that move with the laser head.

HOW DOES COIL-FED LASER CUTTING WORK?

Watch our video for a full breakdown

As the name implies, our coil-fed laser cutting machines allow manufacturers to produce parts directly from coils. The process consists of unwinding coils, correcting coil defects, and cutting configured blanks. System components include the uncoiler, strip correction, and precision fiber laser module. Finished part handling, an automation control system, and auxiliary equipment are also provided. These are mainly to assist in loading, feeding, and powering processes. After all, we are as committed to improving convenience as we are performance.

From top to bottom, our system allows for far more efficient production compared to sheet metal laser cutting. With a RDI laser blanking system, you eliminate laborious, expensive, and time-consuming steps. In other words, no more resetting configuration, sheet loading and unloading, and expensive dies.
